Hello folks - thanks for checking out the Church of the Good Shepherd. I'm Pastor Phil and have had the privilege since 2005 of serving this outstanding congregation.
Good Shepherd continues to burst with the Spirit’s power and energy in 2011. Major initiatives include
- The congregation’s first group mission trip to Red Bird in KY.
- The initiation of Lay Communion distribution ministry.
- Leadership in the renewed Kendall County Jail ministry.
- Moving from the Aurora cluster to the Kendall County cluster, which intersects with most of our congregation’s ministerial emphasis.
- The June Praise Expo which garnered the attention of TLN Total Living Network, and the honor of being TLNs church of the month for November 2011.
- Successful completion of our first season as a PADS site.
In 2012 we anticipate the following:
- Increased emphasis on adult ed and new adult ed studies.
- Growth in our worship ministry through the energy and vision of Brent Spychalski, our new praise band director.
- Growth in worship ministry through the acquisition of our own handbell set.
- Our second group trip to Red Bird Mission.
- The June 10 2012 Praise Expo with community leadership, building on our 2011 experience.
- Money saved for ministry through the just-completed installation of energy-efficent HVAC and lighting systems.
Experience teaches that the new year will be filled with challenges and inspirations for new responses and new ministries, and that Good Shepherd will be ready to listen and meet those challenges. We hope you'll come to Madison & Washington in downtown Oswego and be part of this part of the living Body of Christ!
In the Spirit’s power, Pastor Phil Sheets
